in 1893 in Fielding & killed in action in France at the Battle
of the Somme, 15th September 1916. His name is on the Memorial

"Frank's younger brother, Louis Bernard
McLeod, also fought at the Battle of the Somme. He was wounded
and spent several months in a French hospital where he fell in
love with his nurse, a French girl. They planned to marry, but

Great Grandson of Angus Sutherland b.1803
James Neil Sutherland, 7th child of
William and Elizabeth Sutherland, was born 21st July 1892 at Markinch,
Fife. James worked in the Royal Bank of Scotland, Markinch. He
was a Private in the 8th Battalion of the Black Watch (Royal Highlanders)
Service No: S/16339 Grave/Memorial Reference:
B. 30.
He was killed in action during World War One on 9th April 1917
at Blangy, France and was buried at Mindel
Trench British Cemetery, St. Laurent-Blangy, France.
